Interested in researching your family history? Have you already started your research, but have hit a dead end?
Join Douglas County Historical Society for a monthly class in genealogy. Work with the Historical Society’s researcher, Max Sparber, to explore various techniques for building your family tree, and share your discoveries with your classmates. This month’s class will focus on the use of probate records.
Classes are three hours long. The first hour is for beginners, and will introduce basic techniques in genealogy. The second hour is for everybody, and is an open hour to do research, share discoveries, ask questions, and help each other. The third hour is for advanced students and will teach more complicated or time-consuming techniques of researching a family tree.
Classes are $5 for member and $10 for non-members. Meet at the DCHS Library archive on the first Saturday of each month at 1 pm. Please call 402-455-9990 ext. 101 or email members@douglascohistory.org to reserve your space.
