The Board of Directors of Douglas County Historical Society (DCHS) is pleased to announce that Thomas R. Emmett III will serve as its next Executive Director. Board President George E. Martin III, partner at Baird Holm LLP, says “Tom brings a wide variety of skills and personal attributes that will greatly benefit the citizens of Douglas County.” Tom joins the DCHS after serving as the Executive Director of the Historic General Dodge House in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Prior to that, Tom was the Senior Pastor of Omaha’s Metropolitan Community Church. Tom’s Master of History and Master of Divinity degrees, along with his experience carefully managing budgets, will give the General George Crook House Museum, the Library Archives, and the Society new perspectives and opportunities going forward. “We’re building on great preexisting programs and are delighted to now add Tom’s knowledge and leadership to the team,” says President Martin. Tom will begin his tenure with the Society on June 13, 2023. |
