Second Sunday Talks: Stu Pospisil – The Brandeis Family of Omaha: 10 Stories and More

Stu Pospisil is an Omaha World-Herald sportswriter who has been with the newspaper since 1984. For the past three years he’s authored a Sunday column on Omaha and Douglas County history, spotlighting the fabric that makes a city a community.

Stu is a lifelong Omahan, growing up in the Benson neighborhood and graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984. His fascination with and extensive research into Omaha and Nebraska history, including sports, led him to co-author books commemorating the centennials of the Benson community and Benson High School.

He contributed to several books published by the newspaper before his first solo project, “Nebraska Golf – Out of the Shadows,’’ in 2021.

He has been inducted into the Omaha Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame, the Nebraska Golf Hall of Fame and the Benson High Hall of Fame. Stu and his wife, Sherry, live in Omaha and have twin sons Adam and Kyle.
