Douglas County
Historical Society?
As a DCHS member, you will:
- Preserve the history of Douglas County, Neb.
- Protect a historical landmark, The General Crook House Museum
- Support our Archived Center, the office county archive and research facility of Douglas County
- Enjoy unlimited FREE admission to the Crook House Museum, discounted prices in our Gift Shop and on services at the Archives Center
- Discover the stories of our ancestors through educational programs and events
Your Membership Goes Event Further:
Through our partnership with the Historical Society of Pottawattamie County, your DCHS membership now gives you even more opportunities to explore the history of our region.
Show your current DCHS membership card at any of their three historic museums:
The Bregant House
Squirrel Cage Jail
RailsWest History Museum
DCHS members receive 50% off museum admission, plus a member discount on Gift Shop purchases at all three locations.
Our communities share a history that extends beyond county and state lines, and this partnership gives our members another way to discover the stories of our region on both sides of the Missouri River.
More Ways to Experience History:
Your membership also connects you with DCHS beyond a visit to the Crook House Museum.
Listen to History at the Round Table, the official DCHS podcast, for conversations with historians, preservationists, community partners, and others who help us explore the people, places, and stories that have shaped our community.
And there’s even more coming for DCHS members.
We’re developing a new Members Only area of our website where members will have access to exclusive content and special opportunities, including recorded Second Sunday Talks you can watch on your own time.
Whether you’re visiting the Crook House, attending a program, exploring history across the river, listening to the podcast, or enjoying member-exclusive content from home, your DCHS membership gives you more ways to explore, experience, and connect with history.
Your Membership Makes It Possible:
Beyond the benefits, your membership directly supports the work of the Douglas County Historical Society.
Every membership helps us preserve the Crook House Museum, care for our collections and archives, provide educational programming, and ensure the stories of Douglas County continue to be preserved, shared, and discovered for generations to come.
