Douglas County Historical Society presents their second installment of the Tapestry of Diversity Series: Hal Talam? (Did You Know?) Sudanese Refugees in Omaha.
On Sunday, August 26th at 2 p.m. Alana Schriver, OPS Refugee Specialist, and Elizabeth Ajongo, Heartland Family Service Refugee Advocate and from South Sudan, will present on the Sudan and South Sudan culture of the region and discuss the refugee settlement in Omaha. Afterwards, there will be traditional Sudanese okra stew and beverages at the General Crook House Museum. The Tapestry of Diversity series is sponsored by Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Memorial Foundation.
